Hope you all liked my original birthday song. I also hope you all sang it out loud when you read it, cause that was my goal! It has been awhile since I have posted. And that is a good thing! Been incredibly busy! But as my birthday rolled around, cards flowed in from all of my adoring and number one fans (Farmor and Grandma of course) and they expressed how much they enjoyed my blog, so here is my birthday gift to you!
On my birthday I woke up half an hour before my alarm clock with an incredible urge to pee. After dreaming of gleaming bathrooms and joyous chamber pots I finally could ignore it no longer and dragged myself out of bed to the bathroom. I then quietly slipped back into my room, desperate for just a few more minutes of sleep but to my utmost...joy? I was once again awoken, although this time by singing and gleaming candles. You know you live with two professional singers when Happy Birthday manages to stay in tune at 7am in the morning and ends in perfect harmony, not an easy feat. After such a performance I had no choice but to follow my host mom down the hall and into the living room where a new purse and delicious treats from the bakery were awaiting me. The lit cake and the sun streaming through the windows was beautiful, even through sleepy blurry eyes. I closed my eyes and thought of a wish, and in that moment I knew I must be 17. I opened my eyes and my wish was granted. "Go back to bed" said Elisabeth, "You can still sleep for fifteen more minutes."
On the way to school I opened Farmors card and then a little later Grandma's email. During the day I went shopping for Leif's birthday and a little for myself with my birthday money. The weather was beautiful. Sunny with a blue sky and nearly 70 degrees! In the evening I skyped with my parents and it rounded out to be a nearly perfect day.
